Tips For Eating Healthy
When the holidays hit many of us will say bye, bye to our diets and start to indulge in a wide variety of foods, some of which are not really good for us. One of the places that many will go for this food is the pittsburgh area commissary. Here you can pick up a wide assortment of hot meals, cold sandwiches and so much more.
Look back at all the work you have done
Before indulging in your favorite meals, take a moment to reflect and remember all of the work that you have done over the past year. After the wintertime you began to exercise, run, and engage in activities that helped you lose all the weight from the previous winter. Before you start down that road again, take a moment to reflect.
Look at the ingredients
Before purchasing something to eat, consider looking at the ingredients for a moment. Many items will have a lot of processed foods, salt, artificial flavors and colors. When we consume these items, we are not getting the best parts of the foods we eat. Try to find products that have all-natural flavors, colors and are not processed.
You don’t have to sit and stuff yourself just because it is the holidays. Understanding and adhering to portion control will help you to form better eating habits. Taking a trip down the splurge highway won’t kill you but knowing when to get on and when to get off will help determine who your food reacts with your body.
Schedule eating times
Don’t eat all day long. Some say you should eat small meals all day. This might be okay for some people, but our schedules don’t allow us to eat all day long. So, you need to schedule specific eating times. When you eat at or around the same time everyday your body will expect this food and run your metabolism accordingly. If you eat at random times throughout the day, your body will spaz out and wonder when it will be fed again. Keep your body happy and on a regular feeding schedule.
